What is Triphala?
Triphala is, as the names suggest, a combination of three dried and powdered plant fruits - Amalaki, haritaki and bibhitaki. These fruits are known for their numerous healing properties and healing effects on three different doshas or energies, namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha. In Ayurveda, language is a vital source of information because taste plays a very important role in healing. And Triphala is one of the few Ayurvedic medicines that contains all five flavors - sweet, salty, sour, bitter and astringent.
