The chemical composition of Shilajit is very complex. Fulvic and humic acid are the main components to which its therapeutic effect of this strange, tree resin looking herb is attributed to. Besides, Shilajit is rich with minerals in ion form, organic and inorganic substances, trace elements and different metabolic derivats from nature which originated with the compression of forests during forming mountains of Himalaya in the process that happened 50 million years ago.
Shilajit is best taken on an empty stomach in the morning and in the evening before bed.
Shilajit calms Vata and Kapha doshas and cleans the Pitta dosha. It is very important as sinergent and it is often used with other Ayurvedic preparations to enhance their effect. It affects all dhatus in the body.
